The high school football regular season is rapidly coming down toward the finishing line. The Siegel Stars ran their record to 8-and-oh to claim the school's first-ever regular season football district title. Last Friday, Blackman beat Riverdale 20-to-16, in a game heard on WGNS State Farm Prep Football. Both teams are 5-and-3 and need one more win to reach the critical six-win mark for playoff hopes. Oakland's 38-13 win over Smyrna gives them a 6-and-3 record and likely punches their ticket to the post-season. Eagleville beat MTCS to even their record at 4-and-4, which will also likely get them into the Class A playoffs. This Friday, Riverdale travels to Cookeville, Smyrna hosts Ravenwood, La Vergne hosts C-A-K, Siegel hosts Independence, MTCS hosts Mt. Juliet Christian and on WGNS State Farm Prep Football, Brentwood travels to battle the Blackman Blaze. Pregame coverage begins at 6 Friday night, with a 7pm kickoff. The Oakland Patriots are idle this week, preparing for their week 10 battle with Riverdale. WGNS will have that one as well in two-weeks.None
