The brand new feature for The Sims Social allows your Sim to now adopt a pet of your choice. Whether you?re a cat person or a dog person or both, one thing is for sure? you will absolutely adore these little furballs!
Start by building your little pet a luxury house like the Dog House or Cat Hamlet and gradually learn to look after all its needs, with time you'll soon find that your pet will have an individual and unique personality and will be unlike any other Sim?s pet.Pamper them, teach them tricks and help them develop talents and gain Pet Stars! Because with these Pet Stars not only will you unlock a whole new set of breeds to adopt, but you will also unlock cool accessories for your pet like doggy treadmills and cat towers to keep your pets happy and active!
Which pet should I choose?That is completely up to you! But here?s a little secret if you are finding it hard to decide; you can adopt a Cat AND a Dog!

You will need to reach level 12 before you can adopt a pet
How many pets are there?
At launch there is 2 different types of pet (cat and dog) with 4 different breeds available for each:
Cat = Russian Blue, Siamese, Ginger Tabby and Persian
Dog = Labrador, Pug, Dalmation and Husky
What differentiates each breed of pet?
Well firstly each breed will have it?s own unique personality! In practical terms this means each breed will behave differently from another, some will be friendly and inquisitive, whilst others will be shy and reserved. Secondly The Sims Social have added the functionality for you to customise your pets name and colour, making sure your pet is truly unique.
Can I have more than one breed of pet?
Yes you can have have more than one breed of pet. You can own a Husky AND a Dalmation or a Siamese AND a Persian or perhaps a mix of both. In fact if you wanted to you could adopt every single breed of cat and dog, that?s 8 different pets for you to care for and love!
What are ?Pet Stars??
When training your pet, you will unlock ?Pet Stars?. They are our way of showing the progress of your pet. The more you train your pet, the more stars you?ll get, the more cool stuff you?ll unlock!

Pet Stars will allow the player to unlock new breeds of either cat or dog. They?ll also unlock a super cute accessorised look once you?ve mastered training your pet.
Can I play with a Neighbour's pet if i haven't unlocked pets myself?
You can indeed interact with your neighbours pets even if you have not unlocked them for yourself, you just can?t train them.
