VH1 & ?Parenting Magazine? presented the 16th annual VH1 Save The Music Foundation?s Family Day this past weekend at P.S. 334 ? The Andersen School on the Upper West Side of New York City.
Children of all ages attended the free daylong festival with their friends and family to express their love of music through interactive musical expos.
The 92.3 NOW Entourage was also at the festival doing what they do best ? getting the party started!
The NOW Entourage played the prize wheel with the kids and gave away a lot of awesome prizes such as CD?s and Subway gift cards. They also raffled off tickets to children?s museums, theatrical events and music lessons.

There was also arts and crafts, sing-alongs, face painting and games that helped?raise funds?for the foundation.
The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a non-profit organization with the mission?to restore music education programs in public schools across the country.
The foundation was created in 1997 by former VH1 President John Sykes after participating in the ?Principle for a Day? program at?P.S. 58 ? The Carroll School in Brooklyn, NY.
Sykes recognized the students? passion for music after a fifth grade orchestra performed Beethoven for him with instruments that were falling apart.
The lack of funding was forcing the school to shut down their music program at the end of the academic year.?Sykes found this disturbing and was inspired to do something to improve music programs for children.
Since its establishment,?VH1?s Save The Music Foundation has:
- Restored $49 million dollars worth of musical instruments?
- Donated to 1,850 public schools in more than 192 school districts
- Impacted the lives of over 2.1 million public school students
