Behavioral Sciences, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced artist/teacher/scholar with
research interests in higher education and leadership in visual arts education, a commitment to the
preparation of art teachers for diverse communities and populations; and the ability to model
quality teaching. The individual chosen for this position will be expected to work at both the
undergraduate and Masters levels in the program and be able to work closely with other programs
within the college.
Responsibilities: Candidate will be responsible for teaching all art
education courses, both at the undergraduate and graduate level, supervise student teaching, and
advise Art Education students. Act as a liaison between the Visual Arts Program and the College of
Education and city and county public schools.
Candidate will also be responsible for student
recruiting, and participation in program building and university committee work. Candidate must be
actively involved in ongoing research, publication and creative activity as appropriate.

Ph.D or Ed.D in Art Education. Minimum 3 years of K-12 art teaching experience. University teaching
experience is also required. Candidate must provide evidence of ongoing scholarly publications and
presentations and/or exhibitions required and a commitment to securing external funding for the
program and department. Candidate must have working knowledge of data management systems.
