San Francisco office of special needs dentistry, our team at Blende Dental hosts a free autism awareness event Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 5:30 to 7 PM. Autism and the event will include special presentations of oral health San Francisco sedation dentist, Dr. David Blende, and experts from the spectrum disorder communities autisms impact on oral health. Autism is a disorder that affects a large population, but many people remain unaware of the prevalence and health effects, said Dr. Blende. We hope to help bridge the knowledge gap so that the lives of children and all people involved with autism may be less difficult in the future.

, the prevalence of autism is increasing and it is estimated that more children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with AIDS, diabetes and cancer together. Autism is the fastest growing serious developmental disability in the United States, by making 1 in 88 children and 1 in 54 boys. Dr. Blenda recognizes this and says that autism has many consequences for the lives of individuals and, ultimately, can impact overall health and wellness.
