Arthur Cecil Elkins, 61, of Nokomis, FL, formerly of West Virginia passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 14, 2012. Born on May 2, 1951 to George and Mabel Elkins, he served his country in the U.S. Army. Most recently he retired as a Deputy Sheriff with the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. He also served as a School Resource Officer for many years at Venice Middle School. Cecil is survived by his loving wife Virginia Elkins, dear children Heather Pietz of Vancouver, WA, Heidi Ziepeda of Lakeland, FL, Heath Elkins of Sarasota, FL, Seth Elkins of Newberry, FL, & Sean Elkins of St. Petersburg, FL, and 12 precious grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters Tedie & Teri, and brothers George and Wally. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm Saturday, November 17th at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. A Celebration of his life and legacy will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, November 18th at Venice Church of the Nazarene, 1535 East Venice Avenue.
