First Tornado of 2013 Confirmed In Western Kentucky

FRANKFORT, Ky-- After a year-and-a-half long investigation, 44-year-old Ernest Singleton, who owned several "pain clinics" in Kentucky and southern Indiana, has been indicted and arrested on numerous state and federal pill-mill charges.

Attorney General Jack Conway says although a date hasn't been set, Singleton will soon appear in federal court to answer the counts, including conspiracy to distribute oxycodone, and conspiracy to launder money... from October 2010 to the start of this year.

Along with his arrest, and indictment on the charges, Singleton and the companies he owned have to forfeit to the government a large amount of farmland, cars, and other property. The seizures were conducted Monday in Springfield, Lawrenceburg, and Georgetown.

Conway says the indictment of Singleton is just one sign the "pill mill" law that passed last year is working. He says Kentucky hydrocodone and oxycodone prescriptions have declined 16% in the past year, and Opana prescriptions are down 48%.
